Labor Day on the Ranch
We had an awesome time with our Life Group at the Murrill Ranch for Labor Day. Lots of fish were caught, we swam till we looked like prunes and we continued to develop the great relationship that are forming in this group. It was a great trip. See Jacqueline’s blog for more pictures…

Hughes’ Family Vacation 2008
We are having a blast with Jacqueline’s family this week and headed to see my family this weekend. Today we celebrated Chase’s third birthday. He has been begging to ride a bucking bronco ever since we went to the Houston Rodeo in March. So, today for his 3rd birthday we had a cowboy birthday party [...]

Our Extended Family
Several years ago our family adopted our first child through Compassion International. Today we support two children. Our kids have grown to know them as our extended family and it is a great way to teach them about the world beyond suburban America and about having a heart for international missions. We love the letters [...]

Flickr Photos
I just added a widget on the sidebar for my flickr photos. I finally have gotten around to setting up my flickr page and love it. It should be a great tool together with my Crackberry. I’ll be able to take photos and send them immediately to my blog…that’s cool! If you notice there are [...]

We are training for the Houston half-marathon…there I said it publicly, now I am committed to it! After our run, the whole family loaded up the wagon and headed for [...]

We have fish!
Oct. 27 is coming too fast! That is when we have our first publicized event for the new campus. We are sponsoring a big carnival at the Bridgeland Activity Center and then the following day we hold our first preview service. There are going to be all kinds of games (I hear maybe even a mechanical [...]

I took Thomas to the Astros game last night for the first time. The great thing about the new parks is that they have enough things to keep a 4 year old interested in staying for 9 innings…OK maybe 7 1/2. The highlights of the night were the kids park with a huge playground and [...]

Family Stuff
We are starting to get settled into our new life in Houston. I preached my first round of sermons this weekend. We have 5 worship services, so that was definitely a new experience. Everything went good and I can really tell this church is full of great people. Jacqueline posted some updates on our family on [...]
